Jason Glas - Elder

Jason Glas is a devoted husband and father of five children.  He is an Executive VP and Director of Capital Markets for Ameris Bank in Atlanta, GA, an Elder, and frequent preacher at Covenant Baptist Church in Valdosta, GA, and Board Chairman for Reaching & Teaching International Ministries, Inc. in Louisville, KY.  Jason has written and contributed to other works including “The Gospel, Human Flourishing, and the Foundation of Social Order.” The Southern Baptist Journal of Theology 19.2 (2015): 105-134.  Jason has a B.A. from Valdosta State University, M. Div. from The Southern Baptist Theological Seminary, and graduate of the Graduate School of Banking at Louisiana State University. Jason has served as elder at Covenant since 2015.

Michael Lee - Elder

As a college freshman, Michael was confronted with the Gospel of Jesus Christ and realized his need for a relationship with Him.  During his college years God provided opportunities of discipleship through the Campus Outreach Ministry. Professionally, Michael’s career in the banking industry began in 1991.  He has served in leadership roles in two Southern Baptist Churches prior to joining with Covenant Baptist Church when he and his family moved to Valdosta in 2011.   He has a BS from Troy University, graduated from the Graduate School of Banking at LSU and completed studies at Birmingham Theological Seminary. He became an Elder of CBC in November of 2012.  Michael is married to Jody and they have 3 children, Colson, Mary Margaret and Sarah.

Josh Pool - Elder & Senior Pastor

Josh Pool grew up in Niceville, FL. He attended and graduated from Florida State University in 2009. After discerning a call to pastoral ministry, he pursued and received his M.Div. from Gordon Conwell Theological Seminary in May 2015. In October 2015, he joined with others to plant Redeemer30a Church in Santa Rosa Beach, FL, where he served as one of their pastors until August 2020. Thereafter, Josh and his family moved to D.C. to participate in Capitol Hill Baptist Church’s pastoral internship program before being called to be the senior pastor of Covenant Baptist Church in February 2021. He is married to Mandi and they have four children: Abigail, Jack, Lucas, and Kate.

JOSH GERVACIO - ELDER & ASSOCIATE PASTOR

Josh is from Valdosta, GA, and received a B.S. in Exercise Physiology from Valdosta State University. He holds an M.Div and Th.M from The Southern Baptist Theological Seminary. Before coming to Covenant, he served as a missions intern from 2014-2016 at Ninth and O Baptist Church in Louisville, Ky. He is passionate about missions, evangelism, and discipleship and has been on staff at Covenant since 2017. When not at work, Josh enjoys time with his family, coffee, laughing with friends, and cheering for Atlanta sports teams. Josh is happily married to Molly Gervacio, and they are the proud parents of Isaac, Kayden, Mary, and Abigail.

Tommy Speirs - Elder & Associate Pastor

Congregational Worship | Children’s Ministry | Communications

Tommy serves through planning and leading congregational worship, teaching, pastoral care, and administration.  He has a BS from Louisiana Tech University, and a Master of Arts in Worship Leadership from The Southern Baptist Theological Seminary.  He has served on staff at two Southern Baptist Churches for a total of 12 years before coming to Covenant in 2018.  In addition to vocational ministry, he has a variety of marketplace experience in industrial and retail sales, telecommunications, and property management.  Tommy was born in Delhi, LA.  He is married to Kelly and they have seven children. Tommy enjoys relaxing with his family, playing and writing music, reading, and overthinking everything.
